“I said one word: targeted selection”
The LG Twins will take on the KT Wiz in the eighth game of the season on the 25th at KT Wiz Park in Suwon. LG leads the series 4-3.
The starting pitcher for KT will be foreigner Benjamin. Benjamin has appeared in 17 games this season, posting a 9-3 record with a 4.16 ERA. He has a good record against LG. In three appearances, he is 3-0 with a 1.04 ERA. Eight runs (two earned) in 17 1/3 innings. He allowed one run (unearned) on two hits in six innings, five runs (one earned) on five hits in six innings, and two runs (one earned) on four hits in 5⅓ innings.
KT turned to the strong Benjamin as the fourth starter in its late-inning rotation to take aim at LG. The team used Cuevas-Um Sang-baek-Exclusion in the three-game series against Samsung last weekend, and Benjamin started against LG.
“It’s a targeted selection, and it hurts my pride a little bit, but the players have to get over it. I told the players. I told them to think about it because it’s a targeted selection.”
“In the opening game, (Benjamin) was completely scratched, and in the two games we scored runs, we conceded more,” Yeom said. “He has good pitches against us. He’s got good command,” he said, adding, “You’ve got to have good command of your fastball. If you miss your fastball, you’re at a disadvantage in the count.”
LG’s starting lineup for the day is Hong Chang-ki (right fielder), Moon Sung-joo (left fielder), Kim Hyun-soo (designated hitter), Austin (first baseman), Oh Ji-hwan (shortstop), Park Dong-won (catcher), Moon Bo-kyung (third baseman), Park Hae-min (middle infielder), and Shin Min-jae (second baseman).
The starting pitcher is Plutko. He is 11-1 with a 2.21 ERA in the first half of the season. He was set to start against SSG in Jamsil on the 22nd, but the game was cancelled due to heavy rain just before the start.먹튀검증
“Plutko wanted to take two weeks off (during the All-Star break), so we adjusted his schedule (to pitch the last game of the first half). Plutko was the centrepiece of the first half, and we need him to continue to be the centrepiece in the second half. We need to win every game that Plutko pitches. In the first half, Plutko won all but one game.”
