‘Last Goal’ Moura’s romantic ending… this time with Son Heung-min!

Lucas Moura, 31, played his final game for Tottenham in the English Premier League (EPL) and provided a romantic ending with a stoppage-time ‘last goal’.

Moura came on as a second-half substitute to score a stoppage-time winner against Leeds United in the final match of the 38th round of the 2022-23 EPL season at Elland Road in Leeds, England, on Monday (Sept. 29) to give his side a 4-1 victory. But despite Harry Kane’s multi-goal day and goals from Pedro Foro and Moura, Spurs finished eighth in the league (60 points) and failed to qualify for next season’s European competition.

Moura’s goal was elegant, however, as he stepped on the pitch for the final time in a Tottenham shirt in the 31st minute after being substituted by Hisarlisson. And then came the chance. Picking up the ball near the right halfway line, Moura broke into a run. The Brazilian played to his strengths as a dribbler, beating three defenders before slotting home.

It was reminiscent of when he scored a hat trick in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) in 2018-19 to send Tottenham to the final. Moura was part of Tottenham’s golden era, linking up with the likes of Son Heung-min, Christian Eriksen, and Dele Alli.

When Moura scored the winner, Son and his teammates rushed off the bench and headed straight for Moura, who was lifted into the air to celebrate his final goal for Tottenham. It was similar to what happened exactly one year earlier when Son became the first Asian player to win the Golden Boot (23 goals). What’s even more remarkable is that Moura, who assisted on Son’s 23rd goal back then, lifted him into the air, and this time, Son did the same. Heung-min grinned like it was his job and celebrated Moura’s goal.먹튀검증

Moura was in tears after the game. He waved to the traveling Tottenham fans and had tears in his eyes. “I was able to help the team with my goal today. I will cherish every moment,” he said. “Everything has been good and special in the last five and a half years. I will miss everything,” he said.

Heung-min embraced a tearful Moura at his final home game against Brentford on April 20. The two embraced for a long time, confirming their friendship over the past five years.
