The Hana Hockey Korea Football Association (FA Cup) 2023 quarter-final between Jeju United and Pohang Steelers has been cancelled in the aftermath of Typhoon Kanun.
The FA Cup quarter-final match between Jeju and Pohang was scheduled to take place at Seogwipo Stadium in Jeju at 7.30pm on the 9th. However, the match was cancelled 40 minutes before kick-off at the discretion of the match supervisor.
“The FA Cup Jeju-Pohang match has been cancelled and postponed due to typhoon and safety concerns,” the KFA said. “With Typhoon Kanun heading north, there were concerns about safety accidents for players and spectators if the match were to go ahead,” it added. “It was decided to postpone the match based on the judgement of the match supervisor. The rescheduled date will be announced later.”
“Due to the sudden change in weather caused by the typhoon, the match could not be played, and after discussions with the match supervisor and the tournament headquarters, we decided to postpone the match for everyone’s safety,” the Jeju club said on its social networking service (SNS). “We would like to express our deepest sympathies to the fans of Pohang, who travelled a particularly long way to attend the match.”바카라
As a result, both FA Cup quarter-final matches scheduled for the day have been postponed. Jeonbuk Hyundai and Incheon United were scheduled to play at Jeonju World Cup Stadium on the same day, but were cancelled due to the disruption of the 2023 Saemangeum World Scouting Jamboree and the arrival of Typhoon Buksang.
