Estevez-Perdomo selected as All-Star alternate

Los Angeles Angels right-handed reliever Carlos Estevez and Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Geraldo Perdomo have been named to the All-Star team.

The two players were selected as alternates, Major League Baseball announced on Monday. For both players, it’s their first career selections.

Estevez replaces Immanuel Clase (Cleveland), who forfeited his All-Star appearance to be with his wife, who is expecting a baby.

In 35 appearances and 34 innings pitched this season, he has a 1.85 ERA, 1.265 WHIP, 0.8 home runs per nine innings, 4.2 walks and 11.1 strikeouts. He was 2-for-21 in 24 save situations, protecting the Angels’ back door.카지노사이트

Perdomo is going to the All-Star Game in place of Dansby Swanson (Cubs), who is out with a heel injury.

In 72 games this season, Perdomo batted .274 with a .381 on-base percentage, .416 slugging percentage, five home runs and 33 RBIs.

Meanwhile, the Major League Baseball office announced the same day that Adolis Garcia (Texas) and Austin Hays (Baltimore) were named to the American League All-Star team in place of Aaron Judge and Mike Trout, who were ruled out.

With Garcia’s addition to the starting lineup, Texas will have five players named to the All-Star starting lineup.

According to the Rangers organization, this is the fifth time a team has had at least five players start in the All-Star Game, joining the 1939 New York Yankees and the 1956, 1957 and 1976 Cincinnati Reds.
