The KBO League All-Star Game for the 2023 season concluded on Saturday night in front of a packed house. The players provided great entertainment for the fans with their spectacular plays and colorful highlights.
The 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO All-Star Game, held at Sajik Baseball Stadium in Busan on April 15, saw the Sharing All-Stars, comprised of Kiwoom, LG, KIA, NC, and Hanwha Eagles, defeat the Dream All-Stars, comprised of SSG, KT, Samsung, Lotte, and Dusan, 8-4.
The All-Star Game was held in Busan for the first time in 16 years since 2007. As the weather forecast predicted a lot of rain in the Busan area throughout the weekend, there were many concerns about the normal progress of the event, but fortunately, it was held safely from the Futures All-Star Game on the 14th.
The KBO tried to provide fans with a variety of things to do. A batting zone and pitching zone were set up in the plaza of Sajik Baseball Stadium, and players were scheduled to give lessons. Although the lessons were canceled due to rain, fans were able to take home a variety of memories in addition to watching the All-Star Game.
The box office was huge. More than 10,000 fans attended the Future All-Star Game on April 14, despite the rainy weather, to watch the future stars of the KBO League play.
All 22,190 seats at Sajik Baseball Stadium were sold out early on the day of the All-Star Game. The sellout was officially announced at 4:11 p.m., one hour and 49 minutes before the game started.
The fan signing session, which started at 3pm, was also very popular. The 240 fans selected by lottery from the audience at the All-Star Game were able to see the players in front of them and create memories that will last a lifetime.
The game content was also interesting. Sharing All-Star Socrates (KIA) hit a three-run home run in the first inning that sent Sajik Baseball Stadium into a frenzy. In the bottom of the third inning, Sharing All-Star Chae Eun-sung (Hanwha) exploded for a grand slam home run. Dream All-Star Buchanan (Samsung) finished the game as an outfielder and hitter instead of a pitcher, which is his natural position.
The field was filled with players who are not usually seen on the field. Kim Min-seok (Lotte) won the performance award for dancing with Jenny, a member of the girl group BLACKPINK who looks just like him. Yoo Kang-nam (Lotte) lived up to his nickname “Sajik Kim Soo-hyun” by imitating the character from the drama “You from the Stars,” which drew laughs.먹튀검증
Austin Dean (LG) engaged in a “dance battle” with baseball fans on the scoreboard, and there were many interesting scenes of players and fans interacting.
The only disappointment was the cancellation of the air show by the ROK Air Force’s Black Eagles, which the KBO had worked hard to secure.
The Black Eagles were unable to travel to Busan due to bad weather conditions caused by heavy rains across the country. Initially, the Black Eagles were scheduled to open the All-Star Game, but unfortunately, they had to wait until the following day.
