The mood is electric in Boston.
The Boston Celtics won 104-103 against the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals of the 2023 NBA Playoffs on Monday (Feb. 28) at the Amway Center in Miami.
They trailed the series 2-3. It was also an away game. To make matters worse, key sixth man Malcolm Brogdon was set to leave. It was a cliffhanger, but Boston fought back and pushed the game to Game 7.
Boston’s ace, Jayson Tatum, suffered from a severe shooting slump, making none of his eight three-pointers. However, he did get 15 free throws and made all of them. Tatum, who also chipped in with rebounds and assists, finished with 31 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists on the night.
One-two punch Jaylen Brown backed him up with 26 points, 10 rebounds and three assists, while Marcus Smart chipped in with 21 points and four rebounds. Derrick White was the hero of the night, hitting the game-winning shot.
With the win, Boston has a chance to complete the sweep at home at TD Garden.
Never before in NBA history has a team come back from an 0-3 series deficit to win 4-3. In MLB, it’s happened once. The Red Sox, who share a city with Boston, completed the sweep against the rival New York Yankees in the 2004 American League Championship Series.
After the thrilling victory, the Boston players were excited that Game 7 would be played at home.
Al Horford said in a postgame interview, “I can’t wait for Game 7. It’s going to be a spirited game. I’m so happy to have this opportunity.”먹튀검증
