A festival of Gyeonggi-do basketball players was held in Gimpo.
The Gyeonggi-do Basketball Association (President Lee Jong-seok) held the ’27th Gyeonggi-do Governor’s Life Sports Basketball Tournament’ in Gimpo City, Gyeonggi-do on Tuesday. The tournament, which will be held on the 10th and 11th, will be held on four courts: Gimpo Living Gymnasium 1 and 2, Gimpo Civic Center, and Gulpo Multipurpose Gymnasium.
Lee Jong-seok, president of the Gyeonggi-do Basketball Association, said, “This is a festival for youth basketball enthusiasts. As the players participated in the tournament as representatives of their respective cities and counties, we hope that they will honorably showcase their skills with fair play, and also make good friendships and memories,” he said.
The tournament, which is held as a city-county competition, is Gyeonggi-do’s representative sports basketball tournament, and the size of the participating teams is also unique. A total of 75 teams visited Gimpo, including youth, secondary (1st and 2nd), high school (1st and 2nd), and university teams.
This year’s Gyeonggi-do Governor’s Life Sports Basketball Tournament was organized in a 5-on-5 format for youth and university teams, and a 3-on-3 format for secondary and high school teams.
Each participating city and county team receives a participation point (10 points) for participating in all categories, and 30 points (championship), 10 points (runner-up), and 5 points (third place) depending on their performance.
